The short answer

Among the five sites compared, only Christian Love Story lets you write and reply without paying anything. The other four charge for all or part of their service: on the US App Store, a month costs $39.99 on ChristianCafe and $49.99 on Christian Mingle, and eharmony's Basic plan starts at $59.99. On Christian Love Story, nothing is paid, and photos and profiles are reviewed by a real person.

How this comparison was made

This comparison is published by Christian Love Story, which appears in the table. Each cell repeats what the site itself writes on its public pages — home page, terms, help pages, App Store listing — and each row cites its sources. When a page says nothing on a point, the cell says “not stated,” never “no.” The check is redone every month; a site listed here that spots an error can write to us through the Contact page, and the cell is corrected as soon as the source confirms it.

Before you pay for a subscription, read the terms

On a paid site, free sign-up is often only the door: you create a profile, you see people, then messaging asks for a subscription. Before paying, look for three things in the terms: what the subscription really unlocks, how it renews, and how to cancel. Several of the sites compared renew automatically; on Christian Mingle, deleting the app does not cancel the subscription; on ChristianCafe, all sales are final. On Christian Love Story, the question never comes up: creating a profile, being seen, writing and replying cost nothing.

What you will find on Christian Love Story

Christian Love Story opens on a computer as well as a phone, and can be added to your home screen.
